Abilities are special attacks or magic spells that are earned as a character levels up in a class. There are two classes of abilites: Magic and Weapon Abilities. The primary difference between the two is that Magic can work with any weapon equipped, while Weapon Abilities require the appropriate weapon.
The Main Character can equip up to six abilities in numbered slots. The number on the slot corresponds with Ability artifact spaces in their Magic Circle which modify that ability. Ability Effect boost artifacts only work with Weapon Abilities while MAG Effect boost artifacts only work with Magic. When a Widen is equipped to an Ability artifact space, generally the number of attacks or the size of the area of affect will increase.
Magic spells are learned mainly by the Wizard and Saint classes, though some spells are learned by the other classes as well. These spells can be arranged into three classes: Attack magic, Healing magic and Buffs. Most attack magic comes in Fire and Ice variations.

Healing Magic[]
Widen causes the magic effect animation to repeat, but it does not appear that the effect of the spell is tripled in any way.

Bless
Regen effect
Same as heals and recovers, but useless because taking the bonus spells doesn't increase the duration nor the effect of the blessing.
Buffs[]
As with the healing magic, using a Widen appears to cause the effect animation to be larger but otherwise does not appear to change the actual effect.
